STRUCTURE – CORPORATE INFORMATION
Toms’ history dates back to 1924 when the two pharmacists
Trojel and (og) Meyer founded the company. The growth of
the business accelerated in the years after World War II with
the entrepreneurial owner of Tørsleff & Co, Victor B. Strand,
at the helm of Toms Chocolate Factory.
Victor B. Strand laid down the groundwork for the Toms
Group in the mid-1950s by acquiring Anthon Berg (founded
1884), Penguin Liquorice (founded 1904 under the name
J. Høeg’s Liquorice and Sugar Factories) in 1962 and Galle &
Jessen (founded 1872) in 1971.
